With many programs starting in just days, training for RPR Summer Staff was held just this past week. Staff got to know their supervisors and fellow staff, developed a summer-long camp curriculum, learned essential communication, customer service and safety practices - but all while having fun!
On the first day of training, staff were greeted by coordinators Brittany and Alyssa and met the rest of the supervisors in the Skating Center.
New and returning employees alike, Liz, Alex, Maya and Alison pay careful attention to introductions.
Later that afternoon, everyone got a chance to learn about each of the programs, such as the Leaders In Training program pictured below with staff Josh Brehmer and supervisor Debbie Cash.
Mark Haas excecutes a terrific serve!
But even more competitive than the volleyball game was the "Amazing Race". To introduce new staff to the parks and develop essential team skills, each year the coordinators and returning staff plan an adventure game/scavenger hunt taking the staff on a fast-paced journey through Roseville parks.
The team of Rachel, Josh, Clara, Chris, and Spencer look ready for the Amazing Race!
On your mark...get set...go!
Ken and teammates rush off to the next site.
The Amazing Race takes Ali and Pattijo all the way to Lexington Park.
Everyone gathered for an All-Staff picture at Central Park, just to "hang" out!
